ABOUT VOST PORTUGAL<\/span><\/span><\/h3><\/header><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

A\u00a0VOST Portugal - Association of Digital Volunteers <\/strong>in Emergency Situations<\/strong>, is a registered, non-profit Civil Protection Association, which was informally born in August 2018 during the Monchique fires<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The group of citizens that emerged to fill the information gap during the Monchique fires was not planned to grow, or even remain active. However, the\u00a0Hurricane Leslie\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>showed the need to inform, in real time and on social networks,\u00a0about what I was going through<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After Hurricane Leslie, a\u00a0VOST Portugal<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is invited to join the network of European VOST teams (VOST Europe), led at the time by\u00a0Laurent Alfonso<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

On 16 October 2019, and after several activations \u2013 namely the project \u201cNo longer able to supply<\/strong><\/a>\u201d \u2013 VOST Portugal formally becomes a fully-fledged association.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
